Splice failure

Along with terminations, splice failures represent approximately 90% of overall cable system failures.

Although complete failure occurred at the highest voltage stress area of the splice pictured above, this failure could have been prevented by regular IQ testing.


Splice Void

This significant void in a hand-taped splice occurred because of a manufacturing defect in the tape vulcanizing substance.

A complete failure was avoided using the IQ Program and production was not hampered by an unplanned power outage.
